I am reading To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. There were 376 pages total in the book. This book is about two kids named Jem and Scout who live in Maycomb, Alabama with their father, Atticus. Their neighbor Boo Radley is the town mystery and the kids often wonder about how to lure Boo outside. The Ewells also are a family that causes many problems in town including the Tom Robinson trial. Scout also learned that everyone has a different perspective on the same story. When she was standing on the Radley porch she saw all of her and Jems adventures but from Boo’s perspective. He had enjoyed watching them play and have fun, but he also watched to make sure they were safe. Scout learned many lessons from Boo but also learned more about Boo in the process. She learned that he was very protective over her and Jem. When Miss Maudies house was on fire he gave her a blanket and when Mr. Ewell was hurting them he quickly came and killed Mr. Ewell. Scout also learns that he is very quiet and kind. When Heck Tate was at their house Boo was standing in the corner quietly. Boo also asks if he can go inside and see Jem before going home. He kindly touches Jem’s head and then asks Scout quietly to bring him home. Calpurnia also teaches many important lessons to Scout. Calpurnia is a black woman so she sees race and class from a very different perspective. She teaches Scout about how class and social status doesn’t matter. When Walter Cunningham eats lunch at the Finches Scout questions Walter about his manners and how much he is eating. Calpurnia
