The book “Lord of the Flies” starts with Ralph meeting Piggy. They talk about their past: In the middle of a nuclear war, a group of young boys were being evacuated to an unnamed island. The plane ended up crashing in a deserted island. Ralph was captivated to live on a deserted island without adults but piggy was not. The two boys were looking around thinking about what might have happened to the other boys. Then they came across a conch. Piggy realized that the conch could be blown like a trumpet. Piggy convinced Ralph to blow the conch to bring in the other boys. When he blew the conch every boys that were separated, gathered. There was boys that were six years old up to twelve years old. All of the choirboys voted for Jack but all of the other boys voted for Ralph, so he won the vote. However, Jack wanted Ralph’s position,the leader. To appease Jack, Ralph made him the leader of the hunters, which were the choirboys. Ralph decides to look around the island and confirmed that it was an deserted island. Ralph blew the conch again on the beach. He told the others that there is no adults on this island and had to take care of things by themselves. Also Ralph declared that at meetings, the person who blew the conch had the right to speak and the others had to listen. Piggy took the conch and talked about how they are stuck on the island. Then a small boy said that he saw a “beastie” in the woods at the night. Because of that everyone got scared and frightened. The older boys said it was just a illusion what the boy saw. Ralph mentioned that the groups should build a large fire on top of the centre mountain. The boys made a big fore using piggy’s glasses to set the fire on. However, the fire went out quickly. Piggy argued that the boys should work more efficiently to get out of the island. Then Jack and his group volunteered to be in charge to keep the fire
