It shows the cruelty of the war itself, which is an act of brutal self-destruction. The animals in the painting, the human faces, all demonstrate that they are torture by the Nazi. It was human caused the war, the painting indicates that the Man bring more harm than benefit to humankind. At the right side of the bulb, there is a man who invades from the window and tries to grab the hair of the horse. It has its mouth open, seems like it is screaming and eager to escape. Most of the man and woman in the pictures are in the similar position, they are laying down, or the head hanging on the air, shirtless, and they all seem very desperate.
