Born on January 4, 1643, in Woolsthorpe, England, Isaac Newton grew up to be a pristine mathematician and physicist. He is credited for developing his principles of physics and publishing many works that are the basis for many scientific advances (Isaac Newton Biography, Biography.com). As one of the most notable and greatest minds behind the Scientific Revolution of the 17th century, Isaac Newton can be considered a classic hero because he easily fits into the Hero Cycle. As a child Isaac Newton had a rough life; Isaac was born when the bubonic plague was spreading throughout the world as well as, when a huge civil war was being fought throughout England (Isaac Newton Biography, Biography.com). Soon after his birth his father died and his mother remarried to a nearby villager. Isaac hated his stepfather and turned to literature to find peace. As he grew up his mother and stepfather hoped he would run the family farm but, Isaac had other interests. He began to study machines and modern technology. Isaac soon enrolled in Trinity College where he met a mathematics professor named Isaac Barrow. While dining with another member of the Royal Society Newton told a story of an apple falling on his head. This was when Newton began to think about Gravity.
