World War One
World War I was a very tragic and bad event that affected the whole world. WW1 was a war between Germany, Austria-Hungary and the Ottoman Empire against Britain, America, Russia, France and many other countries. The causalities were around 20 million people. The war began when Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated by Gavrilo Princip, who was part of the group “Young Bosnia”. Austria began accusing Serbia of sheltering this group and later attacked it. Once Serbia was attacked Russia came into the aid of Serbia while Germany came into the aid of Austria-Hungary. The war ended when Germany surrendered on November 11, 1918. This was a very devastating world war, yet another war would come in about 20 years.
World War Two
World War II was also a very bad event that affected the whole world. WW2 was a war between Germany, Japan and Italy against Britain, America, Russia, France and many other countries. The causalities were very bad since around 70 million people died. The war began when Poland was attacked by Germany on September 1, 1939. After this Poland’s allies joined the war. The war in Europe ended when Germany surrendered on May 7, 1945. The war in the Pacific ended in September 2, 1945 after America dropped 2 deadly atomic bombs on Japan. The purpose of NATO was to protect any of its members from any Soviet attack. If the Soviet did attack, all the countries will come into its aid. The countries that joined the NATO were United States, Canada, Portugal, Italy, Norway, Denmark and Iceland and other European Countries. In contrast to this, The USSR made the Warsaw pact. The pact consisted of mostly countries that were annexed or under Soviet Rule. No actual fighting occurred because if it occurred, the whole world will be devastated.
