It isn’t easy for a Jew to live in Nazi Germany. Especially if you lost your whole family. I now live in basement belonging to Liesel and her foster parents. It is unfair, if you ask me. Jews have to live in the basement and eat leftovers if lucky, while Germans live in luxurious mansions and eat their full and even more. It is unfair that I have a little girl broadcast the weather to me, while Germans enjoy the sun today and the rain tomorrow. I cannot leave, I will get caught and tortured. If I stay, I will be a danger to the Hubermanns. Talking about the Hubermanns, I am very thankful and grateful for them. They offer me food and shelter, while they have not much of their own.
