Management of Humanitarian Efforts
Spain is the twelfth largest donor for humanitarian assistance in the past decade. The country sets aside 1.9 billion (US dollars) to help fund humanitarian aid. 39% goes to sub-Saharan parts of Africa like the West Bank, Gaza Strip, Afghanistan, and Sudan. Spain is a member of the Good Humanitarian Donorship Initiative and endorses the International Aid Transparency Initiative. The Good Humanitarian Donorship Initiative organizes organizations and promotes practices that will help the humanitarian effort. The International Aid Transparency Initiative supports a most efficient way to manage resources and information.

Organizations cannot coordinate with other organizations to maximize the efficiency of aid.Conflict is another obstacle that prevents organizations from effectively giving out aid. Areas in conflict are often ignored because of the difficulty and risk it is to deliver aid. Rebel leaders and aid workers agree that, although aid has saved several lives, humanitarian aid is a contributor for allowing the civil war to continue. These four points are so important because many different elements go into aiding people back into a functioning society. It is essential that communication is maintained through the many different elements so that everybody is on the same page and that the wrong idea is never sent. Something intended as a good deed can be interpreted differently from another perspective. Coordination and Collaboration are both important as so that different Organizations or countries can come together at fitting times to better work together to benefit the people they are trying to help. Organizations must be flexible because needs and situations change so frequently. It is also helpful if an aid worker is familiar with a country's culture, beliefs or values. That way an aid worker will be more aware of the problems the people face. 3 A main focus for local communities should be working towards being independent so that when organizations leave the communities can still thrive afterwards. 2 Any aid worked should be understanding of the community that they are put in charge of helping, or at least should be understanding of the importance of their culture. It is necessary that an aid be understanding, cooperative, and open minded. Organizations themselves should also keep in mind that their impact on the community should be minimal so that they do not stunt the growth of the
