One of the organizations I am proud to donate to is the United Service Organizations, or USO. Since 1941, the USO has supported troops at home and abroad. With the intent to lift the spirits of troops and their family members, the organization endeavors to provide a “home away from home” feeling for all the families dealing with the rigors of serving overseas. The organization became famous for its Camp Shows over the years--with some occurring in active war zones. To make this all possible, the USO relies heavily on private donations.
BaptistCare operate more than 160 facilities and programs across NSW and the ACT to serve the aged, the disadvantaged and the disabled. The organisation was founded in 1944 as the NSW Baptist Home Trust to serve the needs of the most vulnerable and isolated members of society, and since then has grown progressively and significantly across NSW and ACT. The journey to today’s BaptistCare from its humble beginning in 1944 reached Baptist Community Services (BCS) in 1986. In 2014, BCS renewed its commitment to deliver care and services to a diverse group of clients with the primary target groups being older people and their carers, people living with disadvantage and distress, and marginalized people requiring housing and support.
The product in this marketing plan is the service provided by Canadian Cancer Society which is information dissemination and a call to action to all teenage smokers and those who are vulnerable to developing smoking as a habit. The awareness and call to action is the product or service that Canadian Cancer Society is promoting through this immersive media marketing campaign. 12.2 Price There is no financial cost associated with this service that Canadian Cancer Society is providing but the target market will have to utilize resources like time and the effort to create the ads, and to share them with friends and family. They will however have to spend money and give time to come to the ‘Hangout at Victoria’ and the ‘Be Kissable Again’ event.

There are different techniques all companies use to target specific people into purchasing their products. Some of the different types are: glittering generalities, testimonial, name calling, plain folks, transfer, and card-stacking. Testimonial propaganda is when a famous and/or important figure endorses a product. This particular technique is often used by many companies to convince the many fans of the celebrity they are using to get their hands on whatever product they are advertising. This technique usually works because fans think that if their idol is using a product, they should be using it too.
Non-Profit organisations are committed towards bringing betterment to the community. They foster civic participation and community engagement. They are focused on fulfilling the community needs that may not always lead to the profit and often such community needs are not addressed through the profit approach. Non-profit organisation is a type of business entity, but has been granted exemption from tax by the tax authorities. Leadership in the non-profit organisations is an emerging approach.
Define by the business dictionary, Nonprofit organizations(NPO) are associations, charities, cooperatives, and other voluntary organizations formed to further cultural, educational, religious, professional, or public service objectives. A large number of nonprofits are human service organizations providing services for those who in need of mental health, housing, and other helping services. NPOs are funded by a number of different sources, According to to the National Center for Charitable Statistics (NCCS), “over 1 million public charity nonprofits existed in the United States in 2009, funded by $1.4 trillion in revenues from contributions, gifts, and grants (22 percent); program service revenues, including government contracts and fees (67 percent) and other sources, including dues and special event income (11 percent)” (NCCS, 2010). Although the numbers do sound nice, the financial states of most nonprofits are not doing well, funding for social services and organizations are expected to decrease. Traditional ways of fundraising have become less productive, so NPOs are now left to find different ways to fund their organizations.
I chose the mission statement of Meals on Wheels America. The mission statement is to empower local community programs to improve the health and quality of life of the seniors they serve so that no one is left hungry or isolated (Meals on Wheels America, n.d.). The Wheels on Wheels mission statement does reflect the social worker’s ethical responsibility to society. The mission statement states what it is going to do for the seniors in the community by improving the health and quality of life. The social worker’s ethical responsibility is to ensure access resources to people that needed and are eligible.
Do you ever come to believe a certain idea after watching an advertisement, but wonder why you do? Companies have developed ways to make consumers take their side in a movement or campaign. Advertisements are used for several different reasons; to persuade you to buy a product, to spread an idea, or create awareness. They develop these persuasive advertisements through the use of rhetorical appeals: ethos, pathos, and logos. For instance, Under Armour, a well-known activewear company, spreads the idea that determination will lead to success.
My time working as an usher for We Serve Incorporated was a lot of fun. My job was to greet and seat hundreds of customers as they were entering the venue for the concerts. Most of the concerts I worked at were for Britney Spears and surprisingly her concerts taught me how to interact with a wide variety of people. As part of a company known for great customer service, I also had to learn to deal with disgruntled customers in a tone that was both understanding and friendly. While my job was mainly about the comfort and enjoyment of customers, I also monitored the safety of both the customers and the performers.
Promotion for these products can be seen and heard in a variety of methods. Television commercials were created showing the benefits and pricing. Local radio, newspaper and billboards were utilized.
Non-profit sector is very different from both the public and private sectors. It is a tax-exempt organization or social sector which is mainly formed for the purpose of education, religious, art, animal right or charitable (Hatten, 1997). Popular examples for the non-profit organization are World Wildlife Fund, Do Something, United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Green Peace and Malaysia Red Crescent Society. The ownership of the non-profit organizations does not belong to anyone, even the founder of organization, which is very different from other form of business.
