A leader is able to gain an audience’s attention because of their personality, morality, and how they hold themself. It is important for a leader to be organized, compassionate, able to compromise but also be firm on what they believe, and be a person who people look up to and aspire to be. I was part of an organization called National Charity League and this organization helped grow women’s confidence, public speaking skills, time management, and organizational skills. Each month, each class holds meetings to plan and discuss projects that follow the class’s focuses. This past year Class of 2023 philanthropic focus is children, cultural focus is international food, and for leadership we are focusing on self care and reflecting on the NCL experience.
To begin with, the economic model has a management style that mirrors that of market-driven businesses, aligning goals and objectives with business principles such as supply and demand (Brainard & Siplon, 2004). On the other hand, the voluntary spirit model relies on a management style that is intentionally different from product and services businesses (2004). In other words, the voluntary spirit model insists that nonprofit missions are not business-like, but instead, are centered on solving problems and nurturing relationships (2004). Next, the organizational structure for the economic model has a relatively strict hierarchy where decisions are driven from the leadership, but the voluntary spirit model’s structure relies on collaboration among members to collectively determine goals and objectives (2004). Lastly, since the economic model is business-like, the incentives for staff appeal to self-serving needs, which means the incentives are often materialistic or monetary (2004).
The core philosophical value of my life is displayed through human equality and equal rights. As a young advocate for equality for all, it is the core of who I am and therefore a philosophy of hope that I seek. My mission is to utilize my voice constructively for the betterment of myself, my family, and society. I sense that when we as a collective whole work for the betterment of everyone, the whole can achieve great heights.
When most people think of a leader, they picture the president of a club or an organization. However, it is my belief that a good leader is actually just a good person who leads by example, rather than any other authority. In this context, I satisfy the leadership requirement for the NHS. As I have mentioned before, I have always been ready to help others. Not only am I ready to help as an individual, I am also able to work well with a team.

Leadership Thought Prior to 1900 The earliest study of leadership thought would be the “Great Man Theory. This theory conceptualized leaders as a single “Great Man” who knew everything and influenced others to follow him. In leadership discourse, the Great Man theory—an assertion that certain individuals, certain men, are gifts from God placed on earth to provide the lightening needed to uplift human existence—is associated mainly with Thomas Carlyle (Spector, 2015, p.250). The focal-point of this theory is that leaders’ skills are inherent and set that them apart from those around them and that these traits enable them to assume roles of power and authority.
“Leadership”. It can be a frightening word as a new nurse. After all, how am I supposed to lead people when I have no experience? I am utterly unqualified to tell other people what to do. However, I believe that leadership does not have to be the traditional leader and subordinate circumstance.
There are several advantages to being a part of a non profit organization. When nonprofit organizations are looking for employees, they search for the best and most interesting ones. Some think that nonprofits have to take what they can get. It is a misconception that nonprofit employee’s work for long hours at low wages. Nonprofits can in fact can choose between the brightest and best fit for the job.
Non-profit sector is very different from both the public and private sectors. It is a tax-exempt organization or social sector which is mainly formed for the purpose of education, religious, art, animal right or charitable (Hatten, 1997). Popular examples for the non-profit organization are World Wildlife Fund, Do Something, United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Green Peace and Malaysia Red Crescent Society. The ownership of the non-profit organizations does not belong to anyone, even the founder of organization, which is very different from other form of business.
It is, however, very important to note that such a constraint will not prohibit these organizations from actually earning positive profits. Thus, for the type of services that CARE provides, it is reasonable that an individual would choose to deal with a non for profit organization, because in this case he will have an additional protection provided by the non distribution constraint. If she needs an organization which she can fully trust, the non for profit, being legal constrained is expected to serve that function in a better manner than it is for profit counterpart. Organizational behavior makes a distinction between three types of organization that are subject to nondistribution constraints: religious nonprofits, secular nonprofits, and governmental organizations.
By definition, computer-mediated communication (CMC) is communication about or by means of computer technology (Thurlow, Lengel, & Tomic, 2004). The transition of computers from highly specialized technology to personal possessions contributed to the increase in investigations relating to CMC (Thurlow, Lengel, & Tomic, 2004). The study of CMC has been widely applied, allowing for discussions of all forms of human communication via the means of a computer. Some of those disciplines through which CMC has been studied include psychology (Gackenbach & Ellerman, 1998; Kiesler, Siegel, & McGuire, 1984), politics (Dahlberg, 2001; Hacker & van Dijk, 2000), and education (Berge & Collins, 1995; McComb, 1994). Critically compare and evaluate three themes or issues related to the practice of leadership discussed in the readings and set text taking into consideration a Biblical worldview. The three themes that are related to the practice of leadership that I will review are Model the way (leading by example) , Inspire a shared vision (leading continuous change) and Enable others to act (giving others the opportunity to lead and make decisions). In the book the Leadership challenge Kouzes and Posner define "leadership as the art of mobilizing others to want to struggle for shared aspirations.
