Good Evening and thank you all for joining us for the 2014 pinning ceremony for Sac 2. Fellow classmates, instructors, families and friends we are all here for one reason, to celebrate and acknowledge that one journey is ending, just as another is about to begin. Without all of you, we would not be here tonight. These past 11 months have definitely not been easy and it has been what seems like a very long journey for us all to get to this point. Looking back at our very first day of the core program, we sat behind a very large stack of books, excited, and yet extremely nervous about what challenges the next year of our life would hold. And indeed, there have been many challenges and obstacles: from locking ourselves in a room away from family to study and do homework, to waking up at ungodly hours to make the long drive to clinicals. We also had to add in the factors of jobs, family, marriages, children, and sickness. Overall, the struggle was definitely real! But because of the encouragement and help given to us by each of you in this room today, we were able to keep pushing, and for that, we are eternally grateful. …show more content…
However, throughout the obstacles we have overcome together as a group, we have seen each other at our worst, and at our best. We have each developed life long memories that will be talked about for years to come, and have established enduring friendships. They say that friends you make in nursing school will last you a lifetime; before this program, I might’ve doubted this statement. However, now, after meeting whom I now consider my best friend, Joti, I couldn’t agree more. In difficult times in which we all saw each other more than we even saw our friends and families, we gave one another a shoulder to lean on. I know that many of the individuals on this stage have formed bonds that will remain strong despite the end of this
