Hunger Task Force Mission Statement Analysis

Volunteering and being active in my community has been a passion in my family and within my circle for a couple of years now. One of the biggest interests that I look forward to every year is the Hunger Task Force “Stamp out Hunger food drive”. The food drive is every 2nd Saturday in May at an assigned post office site. I always felt like everyone should have food to eat no matter what the circumstances are. The Hunger Task Force mission statement summed it all up for me when my family and I decided on the community issue we have in Milwaukee. The mission is as follows from their website “Hunger Task Force believes that every person has a right to adequate food obtained with dignity. The state’s population is that low encourages me more to be more proactive in my community. As an active volunteer, I have prior and current experience with this issue. I was once the mother who had to depend on food stamps to feed my daughter. As much as it burned me to go to the welfare building and apply for food stamps, I knew it would put food on the table and help me in the long run. I always heard and seen how people abuse the program by either selling their food stamps or just not feeding their families at all. For those examples, I wanted to learn more about the program and try to educate people on how important this program is.
