Ever since I joined SNDA in the fall quarter of 2016 and volunteered at events throughout the school year, I wanted to become more active. I knew I wanted to be within the organization. After recently reviewing the different board positions, Specifically the D2 Outreach Coordinator position certainly sparked my interest., I will be entering into my second year of dental school at UCSF. Ultimately, my goal is to help grow the organization, and discover new philanthropy events for members to get involved and serve underserved bay area communities. Additionally, I plan to help continue and implement new outreach programs to educate minorities who are interested in dentistry. As a weekly food bank volunteer at Loaves and Fishes, I was responsible for serving hot meals to the homeless and low- income within the Contra Costa County. In addition, SNDA has so much to offer; I want to continue to find ways for our members to get involved in other outreach programs. My other goal for the organization is to increase the number of volunteers, which will allow us to expand our initiatives; while discovering new opportunities for everyone to get involved. Being in an outreach organization before UCSF, I know how important, yet sometimes difficult it is to sustain volunteers as we all get busy sometimes. I believe with my persistence and organizational skills I will be able to afford more opportunities to those who can’t make certain days. In conclusion, when I graduate I want to leave UCSF knowing that I made an impact on someone’s life, SNDA will allow me to continue my passion and help make those
