The famous international ideal of the “American Dream” is well desired worldwide. In turn, it acts almost as if it's a magnet attracting new immigrants to America each day. So what exactly is the “American Dream?” Hard to say. It can only be decided by the one in search of it. Some believe that it entails to the security of their lives. Not just financially but also to the intangible rewards like the rights to equality and freedom. Do these people come to find what they're looking for? Not all of them. This dream is sought by many but found by some. Not because it's an impossible task but because it has its qualifications. Some believe all it takes is hard work. Not necessarily. The use of singing gives a happy mood to the poem. Meaning that the people who are singing are happy with their lives. Although this joy is shared by some people, the reality of it is that not everyone in this day and age is “singing their song.” Not everyone is happy with their life but it does not make the Dream unachievable. All they need is a chance to grasp it but the thing is, not everyone is given that chance. People argue that the American Dream is impossible. In David Wallinchinsky’s article titled, “Is the American Dream Still Possible?,” he gives multiple statistics on sob stories where even educated people suffer from false hopes that they will live out the American Dream because they are “educationally qualified.” What he fails to realize is that the dream will not be attained by education alone, there are more factors to it than that such as the most important, opportunity.
