When we do something to please authority, we sometimes are not sure if it is for the right reasons. Every person on the earth has authority. However, the United States military branches are excellent examples to display authority. They have rankings such as corporal and colonel who interchange and are always moving up in the rankings. Sometimes what you are ordered to do is not always morally right.
The Pequot War, although it has received little recognition in our understanding of American history, was the first war between English colonists in the New World and an indigenous group. It is often considered the first war in the United States. The Pequot tribe was the dominant Native American in southern New England during the early seventeenth century, controlling trade with the Dutch along the Hudson River Valley and Long Island Sound. The arrival of European settlers affected the relationships between tribes. The Pequots initially benefitted from these circumstances, expanding their territory over thousands of square miles from Long Island Sound to the Thames, Mystic, and Pawcatuck Rivers (Urbanus 2015:34), as well as the southern area of the Connecticut River.
Life lacks a clear line in the sand that spells out where the limits are. People must figure that out themselves and, often, it is difficult to do so. The difficulty lies in the fear of being wrong and no one wants to own up to their errors. So, on a deep level, authority is comforting. It gives people someone to rely on, someone to take orders from, and someone to place blame onto.
I’ve recently took the Jung Typology test, in which I believe that the questions I was asked were very remarkable. Also, the results gave me a clearer look of my personality. When it comes to the different kinds of authority, having to use force or suggestion to follow an order is considered irrational authority while acting in the name of reason is known as rational authority. In the film A Few Good Men, Dawson and Downey blindly follow commands not only because it was their duty to, but due to the mind set they were trained in and the three social processes that created conditions in which moral thoughts against violence become weakened. By following an order from their superior, Dawson and Downey received punishment due to it being an unethical order, and Kelman and Hamilton effectively explain how their situation involves authorization. For authorization to exist, the subordinates are required to obey in the terms of their role obligations instead of their personal preferences (K & H 139).
Have you ever felt you have ruled over a person or several individuals? You may have experienced this feeling if you are a coach, teacher, boss, or even a team leader in something. Could you imagine if all kids had authority over both of their parents, and how much different our world would be? There are many views on authority, just like anything else. Some people agree with others, while they also disagree.

Introduction The personality perspective has been described by many theorists in order to explain behaviors behind a functioning person. There has been legendary theorists’ underlying this perspective, with different views and observations of understanding personalities exceptionally well. Regardless of lack of prominence in some approaches, their terminology and ideas still influence psychology today (Meyer, 2008). Only the two theories of Carl Rogers and Victor Frankl have been applied in the case study of Thapelo and Lerato.
