. Iago's actions has always been questioned by critics mainly Bradley and Leavis.Bradly believes that Iago's devilish intelligence is the reason for Othello's destruction. Also that the evil is external not coming from inside of Othello. He says that Iago ruined a great love story in which lovers could have lived happily ever after.Leavis didn't agree with Bradley's view and commenting about it. He believes that Othello is the main character and Iago is subordinate. In addition that Iago's success in persuading Othello into killing Desdemona is not the result of Iago's devilish intelligence, but Othello's readiness to respond. Although he caused all the lies to start and created a conspiracy himself, but I also think that all the characters in some way contributed to all the tragedy and they all played some part in supplying the lies. The character Othello helped in many ways to cause all the tragedy and a lot of blame could be placed on him. He let himself be blinded by his emotions and let them run him, first with his love for Desdemona and secondly by his anger for being betrayed in some way. An example of this is when he says "it is too much of joy"(Act2.Scene1), this shows us that he can't suppress his emotions and lets them affect quite greatly how he acts, this is shown throughout the play by the actions Othello takes. Iago is the one who plants the seed of doubt in Othello's mind ,in turn causing all of the disastrous events after. Also, by only giving Othello a small piece of information, he enables his mind to think up its own story and through all of this he continuous to act very innocent. Rodrigo could possibly be blamed for the tragedy as he helped Iago by accepting to kill Cassio and then starting off the series of
