Red Pill: Truth The truth may hurt for a moment, but a lie will hurt forever.People that don’t accept or want the truth don’t want their dreams and illusions destroyed. The protagonists in the movies “The Matrix” and the “The Truman Show” figure out who they truly are and perhaps their purpose in life because they chose to discover it rather than accepting what they believed wasn’t reality. In “The Matrix”, Neo chose to take the red pill of truth rather than the blue pill of ignorance, which left him with no regrets in the end. Believers of blissful ignorance Will also say that we need unknowns because of we know everything there is nothing new to discover and create. There is also the fact that ignorance creates much of our entertainment, such as not knowing the plot to a movie or a book. The general idea is that being ignorant allows to think however we want and create our own ideas and theories in our head. As well as the belief that being ignorant will bring more joy to one's life because it leaves room for more discovery and wonder in our lives. Now a non-believer in blissful ignorance would have no problem in contradicting all of that. While a believer in blissful ignorance would say that ignorance gives people more freedom to think and make choices however they desire, a non-believer in blissful ignorance Will say that ignorance will give people the opportunity to create unrealistic and false ideas as well as make idiotic decisions. It is also apparent that believers in blissful ignorance think that ignorance brings joy to ones life because it allows them to have more wonder and discover new things. A believer and truth will say that although ignorance will give a person joy from wonder and discovery, that joy will often come with loads of confusion and lead them astray. Unlike ignorance, truth would bring a person satisfaction and a true sense of reality. Why lead someone down what might be the wrong path when you have the directions to the right
