The field is freshly raked, the sun is blaring in, the game is beginning, but before she is ready, the ball is hit. With the spot light on her, she quickly stumbles over her feet and misses the ball. “Stupid rock” she mumbles under her breath. Her parents protect her with words like “good job” then she proceeds to smile. Ignorance is bliss, for some. But as time passes others realize the truth will set them free. It may be a painful ride but like in the story Oedipus the King by Sophocles and movie The Matrixby Andy and Lana Wachowski, it will set them free. Neo went through everyday life like the others. But then one day a group of men in black suits, or the agents, wanted him and he received a phone call from Morpheus. Morpheus helped him escape out of his office and away from the agents. This is the start of Neo realizing the truth. Neo doesn’t truly realize the truth until Morpheus says“This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill - the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill - you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes” (The Matrix).With red in his mind, Neo reawakens in a new world. Neo goes through a lot of pain, but in the end, he realizes the truth. Once he realizes the truth, Neo and his team go back into the Matrix to defeat the agents. While trying to save to the day, Neo is shot by one of the agents called agent smith. Agent smith then says “Check him” Agent Brown replies “He’s gone” (The Matrix). Though Neo did die, he then came back to life. It is not until Neo dies then comes back to life when he is set free. This is when Neo sees everything in a new perspective and defeats the three
