Why Illegal Immigration is Detrimental to the United States
Statistics have shown that illegal immigration has increased a lot in the past two years. Even though illegal immigration blesses the lives of the immigrants it damages the economy, the citizens and the government of the United States.

The United States economy is affected very largely by illegal immigration. “As long as there are thousands of undocumented workers competing for low-end jobs, salaries are more likely to fall than to rise”(Davidson, A). An illegal immigrant can only be paid cash and they usually only can find blue-collar jobs. Our economy is hurt because, for the skilled or unskilled United States citizens, they aren’t being put priority. This happens because employers know that they can pay the illegal immigrants a lot less money. This damages our economy because the money that the government is putting out is not being recycled back to the United States. This is mainly helping other economies rather than our own. “At the same time, illegal immigrants often work to support family back home, for whom the U.S. dollar goes much farther than it does here. They are more willing to work for less than the minimum wage, and what money they do make doesn't go back into the U.S. economy. While paying someone with ties and a history in the community, not only will their tax dollars go the U.S. government and be returned to the economy through public assistance programs or government contracts, but their earnings will go toward local businesses and help them thrive as well.
