Based on my interview the stereotypical image of homelessness is valid. The three respondents that were interviewed are between the age of 23, 24, and 72. Women tend to have an in depth emotional stories, while men have violent stories before they become homeless. The two hot topics that was constantly being brought up throughout the interview is others perceiving homeless people are either a drug addict or alcoholic. Respondent one and two are females, while respondent three is a male. They each have a story to tell. Respondent one is 23 years old and identify herself as a Caucasian. Respondent one and her husband was living with her mother-in-law, mother-in-law’s boyfriend, and a roommate before she became homeless. Her mother-in-law’s boyfriend bought a packet of shrimp and leaved it in the refrigerator. Someone ate it and her mother-in-law’s boyfriend thought it was her husband that ate it without asking his permission. He started to talk trash towards respondent one’s husband and started a fight with him. Respondent one managed to stop the fight and they went into their room. Her mother-in-law’s boyfriend was not satisfied, he kept on talking trash towards her husband and even got respondent one involved. He was saying that respondent one is a crack head and a lot of unpleasant things. Respondent one did drugs before, but when she found out that she was pregnant, she quit. Unfortunately, their doors are not soundproof they are made up of a piece of thin wood. At this point, respondent one’s husband is very good at throwing darts, he would always hit his target. He decided to throw small knives towards his mother’s door. Situation became worse when respondent one’s husband pulled out his Samurai knife and threatened his mother’s boyfriend. Someone managed to call the police and their story was published in the Huffington Post. Respondent one and her husband decided that they do not want to live with them anymore and decided they packed up their things and left the house.
