My name is Francisca H. Montes and work with the Migrant Program here at the district. We have one student who is in desperate need of a shelter. Unfortunately, he is using drugs to get away from his pain of being homeless and without a family. Do you have any resources or can refer to any resources that might be able to him? Any lead or program that can assist this young man would be greatly appreciated.
Other may argued that the undocumented immigrant do not have sufficient access to the social service, it is actually true that the illegal aliens have taking away the federal fund that was supposed to subsidize the local resident. When the fellow local resident struggle to pay for the health care service and desperately looking for help, why is it acceptable to compel the taxpayer to pay for the undocumented
Texas has been fighting hard against the Obama Administration's attempts to give illegals citizenship. The governor of Texas is now cracking down on cities in the state are offering sanctuaries to illegal immigrants. Greg Abbot recently wrote a letter to Sheriff Lupe Valdez stating that Texas will not put up with the sanctuary nonsense that other states are offering, such as California. Lupe recently announced that she would make decisions on a case by case basis about whether to detain illegal immigrants. However, Abbot stated that Lupe is trying to endanger the people that she has vowed to protect.
Experiences of an immigrant were different back then but there are also similarities between the time periods. The number of immigrants have been similar between the years. According to the article it states "three decades later there was again a similar amount of illegal residents of immigrants. This is explaining that the numbers of immigrants entering U.S haven 't changed a lot during the years, numbers have been similar. Immigrants have been learning the English language faster than previously.
Legal status is a large determinant of who gains access to health care. Unlawful Hispanic immigrants are not eligible for publicly- funded programs such as Medicaid and CHIP and must rely on private insurance companies, however; private insurance companies have the right to deny an individual health care coverage. The denial in health care coverage places this population at a serious disadvantage. Many Hispanics already face an enormous disadvantage such as language barriers, low socioeconomic status, and limited educational attainment. Cultural competency remains at the forefront in regards to challenges faced by this population.
ACA covers a majority of the minority population such as Hispanics and African Americans living in the United States. For many years, African Americans and Hispanics specifically have been unjustifiably uninsured and less likely than whites to receive the health care they need due to their lack of income. Hispanics still have the disadvantage compared to African Americans because they are less likely to obtain insurance than the rest of the ethnic groups since 56% of them are undocumented aliens in the United States. Obamacare helps the minority population by letting children stay on their parent's healthcare plan until the age of 26. By adding the children to the parent's insurance plan, the government, in turn, increased the profits made by insurance companies because the insurance companies receive profit from the premiums obtained by taking in additional healthy people (Amadeo, Kimberly.)
The treatment of immigrants was very hostile. In America there were immigrants who were German Americans, Italian Americans and Japanese Americans whom U.S. official considered dangerous, hostile, and enemies. Many living in the United States were second and older generation Germans, Italians and so forth. Those who fought in World War 2 were seen as friendly. But part of those who stayed home were seen to a degree suspicious.
Immigrants face many barriers when it comes to gaining proper access to health care. Immigrants have the highest rate in the nation to not receive health insurance for the year. Not receiving health insurance is mainly due to the high cost of health care. Obtaining the proper health insurance is important for any human being because as humans we have to pay to be healthy. Immigrants come from their countries to seek better opportunities such as access to health care and health insurance.
Approximately one out of every four children in the United States, live with at least one immigrant parents. The majority of them, about 86 percent, are U.S. citizen by birth; another 2 percent have gained citizenship status through the naturalization process. The remaining 12 percent children in immigrant families, who represent approximately 3 percent of all child population, are foreign-born and noncitizen. Although citizen children living in immigrant families are eligible for public health insurance coverage in a manner similar to the U.S.-born children of native parents, the disparities in health insurance coverage between children of immigrants and children of natives remain substantial. For example, in 2008, about 12 percent of low-income
Immigrants back in the day were told to be lazy, drunks, and murders. Back then, Americans were afraid of immigrants because of war, the Americans believed that immigrants were there to kill them or spy on them. Although, the immigrants only wanted to come to the “land of the free” where we had a better economy, more space, and more jobs. The immigrants only wanted to get away from controlling governments, overcrowding, and discrimination. Immigrants wanted to come here because of what we had, Americans then thought immigrants were going to take their jobs and nativism because a part of the lifestyle.
It is no news that immigrants are coming to America, fleeing from their lands in hopes of a better future, and it 's no surprise the challenges and discrimination immigrants face. The discrimination seems to never end, but to make English the official language might further that discrimination and be another challenge. Yet, it can be an exponentially beneficial to immigrants because it will eliminate a lot of confusion and helping them improve their lives. I will be talking about the positive and negative points on this language. Arguing on how those advocates who want English to be official, actually want to help immigrants not hurt
First generation immigrants sacrifice their adulthood in search of a better life for their family and for future generations to come. My father came from Peru to support his family. He was the first person in his family to come to America. He works in road construction from morning until night so that my family is supported. The desire to repay both of my parents is the belief that guides my life.
As the first person in my family to attend college, I realized how privileged my life has been and how much higher education could make a difference to me and my family. Being excited, I embarked on a journey to improving writing, communication and critical thinking, and exploring innovative ideas for personal development and social values. This remarkable experience inspired me to pursue a Ph.D. My goal is to develop a better understanding of research and teaching, thus building a skill set to fulfill my aspiration while serving in the academic field.
Design Journal Criterion A Introduction: My global cause is on the impacts of gun control in the world (primarily the U.S.). The reason I chose this case is because of the past yearly (2014-2016) protests and debates that don 't seem to have definite solutions at the best. The problem overall is the idea of control of firearms. There are pros and cons to that I see for gun control itself and I believe that there is a big problem with how it’s presented in our country: People get shot, take away the guns.
There are many challenges that immigrants face throughout their lives. Many immigrants are able to come to the U.S., but it is not easy as it seems. One challenge that immigrants go through is being able to have respect that the U.S. citizens have. Another challenge that immigrants face is being able to adapt to the new environment. People who arrive in the U.S. might not be able to speak English.
