A twelve year old boy a world away from his parents once wrote in a letter to his parents: “And I have nothing to comfort me, nor is there nothing to be gotten here but sickness and death.” This child was Richard Frethorne, and in “Letter to Father and Mother,” he communicates his desperation caused by the new world’s merciless environment to his parents to persuade them to send food and pay off his accumulated debts from the journey. He accomplishes this with deliberate word choice and allusions to the bible to appeal to ethos, pathos, and logos. Frethorne uses diction, imagery, and facts to create a letter to his parents which aims to garner sympathy for his state of life and to persuade them to send food and pay off his debts.
In the final hours of his presidency, President Dwight D. Eisenhower delivered a phenomenal speech that shocked the nation. President Eisenhower warned the people of the United States of the impending dilemmas approaching the future. He offered America advice to mitigate the damages of inevitable catastrophes awaiting. After half a century of complicated problems including two world wars and the great depression, the people had experienced enough hardship. They blatantly ignored the plea of President Eisenhower because it is easier to pretend ignorance than to initiate change.
Namely, a chapter called route 66. Figurative language such as diction is used to highlight how little the migrants truly had, this chapter exposes imbalances of society. For instance in this chapter it says (in reference to the migrants) “ And the good earth that had borne them, strengthened them, was their only possession. For a man who had nothing, possessing nothing was difficult too.”
Under the traditional law, asylum was recognised as the right of the state to be conferred, in its discretion, and individual could only request for it and if granted enjoy it. Unfortunately, all the efforts to ensure right of asylum to every person fearing persecution have been forestalled by states. In the last few years U.S.A, Australia, Germany, France and other European countries to name a few, are increasingly putting into practice restrictive asylum policies in order to deter and to prevent asylum-seekers from seeking refuge in their territory.

From growing closer to my teammates to the new friendships I made there, I couldn’t have been more thankful. Through this experience, I have learned how difficult it is to be a leader, even with the help of my teammates, and how teamwork is necessary to achieve desired goals. Helping others in need is something I am very passionate about and I am proud to have been part of this team in that I was able to be someone the Navajo kids could depend. DACA a program passed under the Obama administration in which protected immigrants from deportation has changed the lives of so many people also known as Dreamers. This program has given many immigrants the opportunity to a better future. Since Trumps announcement on the end of the DACA program, it has created a lot of controversy on why we shouldn't end the program. Experts believe that ending DACA would greatly affect our economy. Most of the programs recipients have pursued a better job or furthered their education which has created a better chance of hiring higher skilled workers.
How would you feel if you and your family were denied the opportunity to a better life or had to wait years for one? The immigrants goal is to strive for a better future for themselves and their family. Coming here will help them achieve that goal. You may be thinking why cant they have a good future where they live? In some cases, the country they live in could be poor, not have many schools, is not safe, etc.
Obesity is an ever-growing epidemic in the United States. Weights have been rising in the United States throughout the twentieth century, but the rise in obesity since 1980 is fundamentally different from past changes. (Cutler, Glaeser and Shapiro) Though it is not entirely clear what is to blame many scientists and researchers have a theory. The rise of obesity in the U.S. can be contributed to high priced fruits and vegetables, low costing processed foods, widespread increase in poverty, and a sedentary lifestyle.
Dear fellow nasty women and bad hombres, America is one the greatest experiments in freedom and liberty history has ever known. We are a nation that was built on the minds and ideals of immigrants. Our Founding Fathers created America so that everyone could have a chance at "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness". Those are aspects of my country, I would never change because they are what make us unique. The glow of America casts a ripple of hope upon those who struggle.

Now with your new action in place, I think it’s a good thing. I chose to do this because mexico feeds into the way I live my life every day, we eat similar foods, we hear spanish spoken in our everyday lives, and even our religion is influenced by mexico! I want to talk about Mexico’s geographical identity, the government, and the culture of the mexican people. Mexico has interesting geography compared to many other countries.

According to the dictionary definition, Xenophobia is the unreasonable fear or hatred of strangers or foreigners or of that which is strange or foreign. It is a combination of the word ‘xeno’ (foreigner) – which originated in Greece and ‘phobia’ (fear).

Normally, trafficking is done by threat, compulsion, abduction, fraud, misleading, abuse of power, vulnerability, giving payments or benefits to a person in control of the victim .Trafficking in person is a serious crime and dignified violation of human rights . Most of people nowadays do not know that human slavery still exists; after it was abolished 150 years ago, its proven when there is an auction of young women intended for sexual slavery occurred publicly in Britain highly policed location and another auction even took place in front of a café at Greenwich Airport, Britain (News by BBC UK, 4 June 2006, 14.31 GMT). These crimes have been booming and become a global phenomenon when victims from at least 153 countries were detected in 124 countries worldwide between 2010 and 2012.
