Collaboration in Healthcare Multidisciplinary teams make a difference for the patients. A multidisciplinary team are multiple professionals working together to process ideas, communicate, and allow everyone to add input for their patients to provide the best quality care they can give. The multidisciplinary team are made up of doctors, nurses, social workers, dietitians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, etc. When the team come together, they can look into the patient and their medical problems. With everyone having eyes onto the situation with their patient, they can give a very thorough treatment plan for the patient. The goal is provide patient satisfaction and best quality of care. In a multidisciplinary team, communication can always be improved. Finding ways where everyone is informed about a patient and that the patient can also be informed as well. Professionals may have a hard time working as a team, so practicing and adapting to working all together can improved the way everyone works together (Charlotte H., 2021) The facility or organization can provide performance consulting, and team effectiveness training, these professionals should all learn about each other’s professions so that they all respect each other’s knowledge and input. A professional may not know something so another professional may have the chance to inform them about their knowledge and skill. Each member of the multidisciplinary team needs to respect each other to be able to always improve their team or any team. They need to understand all policies and protocols too also provide the right treatment and care. Remember one of the barriers to successfully collaborating in a multidisciplinary team is the roles between the workers. A professional may be higher up then another and may cause a problem.
