Instead, it is too corrupted to even regulate the local chemical plant, sewage plant, and toxic waste incinerator, which produce so many pollutions and toxic that deadly harmful to the people live there. It is devastating to me that our politicians do not even address the issue. It seems to me that the government just totally abandon that
Do people really know what they are buying at the store? Do they know that most of the fruits and vegetables have pesticides in them? Do they know that there are some everyday activities that can help the environment? In Derrick Jensen and Stephanie McMillan “As the World Burns: 50 Simple Things You Can Do to Stay in Denial,” they talk about how everyone can help save our planet. For example, changing the light bulbs in the house to fluorescent light, riding bikes instead of driving, and recycling can also help.
I strongly side with the act of changing our habitats for the sake of helping the environment. I insist on helping our environment not because you achieve “a sense of personal virtue” (89). Too many times does one aim to create a monumental change without thinking, realistically, that our intentions are no better than those of someone who has no intent to change. Pollan begins to analyze when being environmentally aware of your actions became virtuous, noting writers from the Wall Street Journal to the New Yorker. He questions how doing the right thing in accordance to the environment’s well-being has now been labeled as a “mark of liberal soft-headedness”(89)
The article reveals that society needs eco-innovation and a sustainable focus in today's rapidly changing environmental context. This change can come from social movements and ground-breaking projects, but educating students about sustainable living is ideal. Educators are responsible for raising environmentally conscious, self-sufficient individuals who understand the importance of protecting the environment. Young people's efforts like Spark-Y embrace practical environmental education while giving students practical skills and helping them realize the domain's value. This source and its relevancy tie back to my topic because the general points given through the source benefit my research on sustainability in
I choose to live my life in a way that would benefit the earth, not to destroy it. I walk to the places I need to go whenever I can, or use the public transportation to create less congestion on the roads. I do take the light rail system to my downtown campus twice a week, which is very effective to get to point A to point B in the matter of time that it would take to drive. I would like to think that I am being eco-friendly as much as I can when the opportunity is upon me. I would like to think that the city that I live in now, which is Tempe, is eco-friendly minded.
During school, we 've always been taught a little about pollution, how to recycle and even practiced a few things that will help improve this issue. This has been an ongoing issue for years and it can make some feel like what 's the use of trying to make a change now. Don 't get me wrong, things have been done, but more could be done as well. I myself could make a few changes too. If we really researched the damage that these things are doing to our precious earth we would want to do more.
The protection of environment is crucial to the wellbeing of this planet. The job of government is to protect and preserve the land on which its people live. However, there is a bill being considered that completely goes against this, one that calls for the eradication of the Environmental Protection Agency, a government program created to protect human and environmental wellbeing through their regulation of laws. I urge you to oppose bill H.R. 861 - the termination of the Environmental Protection Agency - because of the ways that the EPA protects air, water, and land.
One must keep their environment clean. If we have to improve the public health then public awareness is a primary requirement. There are a number of ways in which we can spread awareness and educate the public how to protect the environment. Campaigns must be organized to make people aware, some of the examples for the awareness campaigns are: (a) Clean your neighbourhood (b) Vaccination and control of the diseases (c) Regular check-ups (d) Eating safer and healthier foods (e) Safe drinking water (f) Healthier mothers and babies and access to family planning (g) Recognition of tobacco and cigarette smoking as a threat to
Introduction: Genetically modified organisms can be defined as organisms in which the DNA has been changed in a way that does not occur naturally by any reproduction procedure. The enviropig is just one of many organisms that they did experiments on to modify it to have specific (needed) outcomes. The reason for genetic modification is to be able to change a product or organism so that it deliver desirable traits. The enviropig was created to solve the problem of pigs not being able to absorb enough phosphorous from their diet, which then in its turn contributes to the larger factor of pollution.
The consumers now demand for the products which are environmentally safe and having high packaging. Firms can be protect the natural environment demand by the public. In the United State about 20 million people are supporting environmental groups. The regulations from the federal and state governments are changing rapidly and becoming more complex. Most of the consumers, distributors, suppliers, and investors are closing business with environmentally weak firms.
If art and literature, mathematics, science, economics, statistics, history and religion is taught, why not teach the fundamental importance of ecological conservation? “Students are like sponges and observe information well if they learn about it starting at their early childhood education and throughout their school years. They should be aware of the importance of recycling, and therefore I strongly believe each school district should implement into their lesson plans a lesson of recycling in order for the students to begin recycling themselves” (Permalink). Molding children’s mind to be conscious about the importance of environment
But that still won’t get rid of pollution. Not everyone needs to stop doing any activities that causes pollution. But, everyone needs to at least try to reduce the amount of activities they do that cause pollution. Simple acts from using common transportation to reusing plastic bags are extremely helpful to our environment and future environment. Start acting now before it’s too late.
Review of Literature Environmental issues began to be discussed and debated only towards the end of the 20th century. Since then significant amount of literature has been penned down raising awareness about issues of pollution, deforestation, animal rights and several others however it has failed to result in major changes, ideas or even actions to save the environment. Several species of animals have become extinct; pollution level is at an all-time high, global warming is leading to severe climate changes all across the globe but these problems do not seem to alarm the decision makers. Leydier & Martin (2013) also states that, “despite the increasing expression of concern in political and media debates about issues such as climate change, pollution and threats to biodiversity, “political ecology” (operating at the confluence of scientific developments, political engagement and ethical debates) is still trying to find its bearings” (p.7). It is quite evident that environmental issues are not treated in equivalence to political, economic, social or even religious issues.
Indeed, no citizen of the earth can afford to remain aloof from the issue related to the environment. It is therefore, essentially important that the study of the environment becomes an integral part of the education process. Environmental education increases public awareness and knowledge about environmental issues or problems. In doing so, it provides the public with the necessary skills to make informed decisions and take responsible actions. Needs and importance of positive attitude and awareness towards environment:
To become a sustainable society, we must eliminate our contributions to: No1. The increase of concentrations of substances extracted from the Earth’s crust (heavy metals and fossil fuels) No2. The increase of concentrations of substances produced by society (plastics, dioxins and DDT) No3. The physical degradation of nature and natural processes (harvesting forests and destroying habitat)
