Knowledge, attitude and compliance act as three key elements, which make up the dynamic system of life itself. Knowledge is some information that could be acquired or gained . There are various ways to acquire knowledge namely reading, experience and comprehension, etc. Knowledge, being the basic criterion that allows one to differentiate between right and wrong. Attitude refers to the manner, feeling or position , with regard to a person or thing; tendency or orientation, especially of the mind. Compliance is the reflection of rules and knowledge that leads to action. Thus, right knowledge, positive attitude and good compliance are imperative to guide and serve patients. 1 Infection is one of the most crucial problems in health care services worldwide. It is considered one of the most important causes of morbidity and mortality associated with clinical, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. 2 Infection control is defined as "Measures practiced by health care personnel to reduce the risks of transmission of infectious agents to patients and employees (e.g. proper hand hygiene, scrupulous work practices, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), such as masks or respirators, gloves, gowns and eye protection)" .
