More than 35 million kids and teens play sports in the United States. Many of those kids and teens are injured. One injury can lead to another, and eventually they can 't play later in life. If they can 't play, they end up being rejected for colleges and scholarships. I believe that overuse injuries and rejection are an important aspect of playing a sport.

Unfortunately, most of the injuries in sports now, are overuse injuries. When athlete push their body to much on a sport this can cause overuse injuries. Their peers, are pressuring them to keep up with them, making them play harder and practice more. But not everyone knows how Prevent them. Here are some ways to prevent overuse injuries. The Scope five: Sports Safety says "Give your body a rest by playing a few different sports instead of the same one all year." If you play a few different sports A year, you will be less likely to get in overuse injury. The Scope 5: Sport Safety also says that " During the season, take at least one day off each week". If you are not working your muscles as much as you are with practices every day all week long. The Scope5: Sports Safety also says "perform movements properly so you don 't strain your bones, tendons, and joints." If you make a wrong movement, you could tear a muscle, joint, tendon, or break a bone. If you feel pain don 't ignore it. Tell an adult if something hurts, or go to the doctor if the pain doesn 't go away and gets worse. Athletes try to play through their pain and then they end up sitting in the hospital.
