Vocabulary is obviously a very important element within a language. Vocabulary, much more than grammar, is the key to your understanding what you hear and read; and to communicating successfully with other people and to exchange ideas and feelings and so on. For this reason it is very important for you to quickly build up a large store of words. Research studies have shown the strong links between having an extensive vocabulary and achieving school success. If there are no words we will not able to understand each other.
In our opinion, our students need to be aware of the importance of this element because we have observed that there is a tendency to concentrate on grammar, paying little attention to vocabulary.

Pictures are one of these valuable aids. They bring “images of reality into the unnatural world of the language classroom. (Kateřina Joklova : 2009). ' 'In teaching and learning process, the role of using pictures as media has become the best choice in teaching English especially in vocabulary to the students. Pictures are important to help the students in learning English vocabulary and memorizing the meanings. (Himayatus Sholihah: 2009, p25) ' ' . There are many ways of teaching vocabulary by using pictures as a part of visual aids are used as a technique in teaching English vocabulary at elementary schools. Pictures that can be poster, cartoon, picture in newspapers, magazines, flashcards, posters, family photographs...Etc.
