Important Leaders of World War two There were many military leaders in WWII many not well known. In WWII, many people know about Hitler, but there were many more leaders some not well known, including Joseph Goebbels The propaganda director of the Holocaust. Rudolph Hoss was another important leader in WWII, he was in charge of Auschwitz. There were more than just military leaders that are not well known including Winston Churchill. Propaganda played a huge role in bringing Hitler to power and the Nazis. Joseph Goebbels the propaganda and enlightenment minister was a huge military general in WWII. In 1926 he was appointed party district leader in Berlin. Hitler had appointed Goebbels minister of propaganda and enlightenment when he came to power. Goebbel was in charge of most public entertainment including, newspapers, magazines, books, music, films, stage plays, radio programs, and fine arts. As minister of propaganda his plan to make the citizens of Germany believe that Hitler would make Germany great was to censor all opposition. Rudolph was catholic when he had renounced his affiliation with the catholic church to join the Nazis. Rudolph Hoss was the person who decided to use Zyklon B in the gas chambers. In 1943 Rudolph was appointed chief inspector of the concentration camps, his methods were so effective that the Nazis started calling him a true pioneer. In 1945 when facing the red army Hoss had fled Germany, and went into hiding, he went by the name Franz Lang. Before Hoss was killed he said how he felt weak kneed when killing all the who he killed, when pushing jews to their death.
