Part 2 – Individual Part 1. Indie Software is a company with employees from different age groups and ethical background. With add on of new hires, the perspective of the existing employees at first would be frightened, nervous, and uncomfortable. When new employees are hired the older employees will feel frightened since they are unfamiliar of these newly hired people. They would be frightened that the new employees may behave different from their current coworkers, and they may feel that their position might be replaced. In my opinion, every job as an employer or an employee is dealing with situations and problems within diverse management. I strongly believe that the people and the experiences we gain impact our behavior as an individual. Dealing with a diverse workplace would be hard, especially if it requires getting out of one’s comfort zone, but it’s a requirement in society today. Throughout my life I found it difficult to only remain with people that share the same culture as me because I wanted to learn about other cultures. In my opinion, it is important to learn about other cultures to eliminate racist perceptions. 4. When dealing with a diverse workplace, it is important to interact with people from different backgrounds because it gives an insight of their culture. Communicating with other people of different heritages can change the views of a person. Especially in business being diverse is essential, to ensure that an individual is confident to communicate and adapt to new people. Many people avoid collaborating with people of different cultures because they are afraid to leave their comfort zone and assume that they will have to behave differently when dealing with people of different cultures.
