• Leadership is the influencing process of leaders and followers to achieve organizational objectives through change. If you manage to do that, you will be a successful leader. Indra Nooyi is a successful leader who achieved goals and targets that develop the organization. Also, she becomes the first woman to hold the post and enters the list of leading women. Indra Nooyi strategy to be successful is to do the toughest work assignment and solve problems that no one can solve to challenge yourself. This will make you a trusted leader in your organization. She believes that the strongest leader is the leader who work and share decision making with his employee. She also believes that the leader should focus in the goal of the organization but also leaders should also focused on people (employee). In PepsiCo she tried to build a relationship with employee through the communication with their parents. For example, she did an interview with an employee and she called his mother to ask her why PepsiCo is the right choice. She also sent a thankyou card to her employee’s parents for the wonderful job the son or daughter is doing in the company. This communication can build trust and relationship with the leader, which lead to a great environment that an employee can work in comfortably.
• “Leadership is hard to define and good leadership even harder. But if you can get people to follow you to the ends of the earth, you are a great leader” (Indra Nooyi). Indra used the five C’s model of leadership, which are competency, courage, confidence, communication skills and compass. She listen to her employee needs to have them satisfied with the job. Moreover, she invests on her employee by train them and improves their skills to have a better performance. I believe that Indra is a democratic leader because she likes to share ideas, make decision, and problem solving with her employee. This is a good thing a leader can do because it is going to make the employees involve in the job environment. Also, it is going to make her employee feel satisfied about the job they are doing.
• Indra Nooyi is a leader who is open to change and she has a vision of reinventing in PepsiCo. For example, She is trying to take the company from snack food to health food, from caffeine colas to fruit juices, and from shareholder value to sustainable enterprise.
