Good leaders have many qualities that sent them apart from others. Confidence, commitment, and Intuition are just a few that make a good leader. There are many people in today’s society that have these qualities, but there is only one that really portrays a strong leader in the book Lord of the Flies by William Golding. A great leader has certain qualities that are rare in people making them best suited to lead. Confidence makes a person seem easy to follow because it appears that they know what they are doing. Commitment is another great quality because if people see that a leader doesn’t give up then they are more likely to follow. Intuition is also a good quality to have because if the leader can act well on instinct they will be able to make decisions quickly. From the moment Jack is introduced it’s evident that he has the qualities that make a good leader. As he strolled up to Ralph with his choir in an organized line he showed his ability to lead. Jack’s firm confidence is also shown when he gets the majority of the group to turn on Ralph and walk out on one of his meetings. This also shows the amount of respect given to Jack compared to the other characters. Since this is obviously greater than the others it is only logical that he would make a great leader.
