Industrial Revolution interchangeable parts
I am writing this essay to educate and talk about interchangeable parts and how they are involved in the Industrial Revolution timeline. The Industrial Revolution first started in great britain, but soon came to the united states in 1790. This revolution was a transfer from rural agricultural working into factories jobs. This caused cities and the population to boom, a step forward to now a day civilization. Through all that happened during the Industrial revolution one of the main parts was new inventions that could replace older or help modernize society in a way. One of the big inventions during this time period was interchangeable parts.
The invention of interchangeable parts was first thought up by Eli Whitney, who also invented the cotton gin. Which was was an important machine that separates cotton seeds from the cotton. He made interchangeable parts first for riffles, which at the time there was no regulations for machine maintenance. So he learned over the course of ten years, he finally got all problems and obstacles out of the way to perfect interchangeable parts. After some time he was actually able to make 15,000 riffles within 4 years. The government started to support interchangeable parts for weapons production, which helped us with many other things. Just the switch to interchangeable parts, that recommend the change to using simular to identical parts changed and made a big appearance in the industrial revolution. This helped lower cost of making fire arms and make the production time accelerate. It also helped with job openings because Eli Whitney made this with the intention to making assembly easy with no skills
