World War One would create countless of casualties from both physical trauma and emotional trauma. Tons of doctors and nurses would have to be employed to ensure that every soldier could be treated. New treatments were created to try and ease the harm that new weapons would inflict on the soldiers. Doctors and nurses would have to transport casualties from the field to a safe location where they could treat them. If a soldier got a wound to a vital part than it was very likely that they would have to get that limb amputated. As scary as it seems, amputation saved countless lives from dying of infection.
