November 11th, 2014 was a date I will never forget. This was the start of my new life. I was diagnosed with Germinoma a rare form of a brain cancer that only forms when a child starts puberty. However, back then I obiblious to brain cancer, in fact I knew nothing about any other type of cancer besides breast cancer. Although the fight to end cancer is always broadcasted or shown through commercials,ads, or public services announcements, the most deadly cancers out there are left in the dark. This is because the most over publicized cancer in America is breast cancer.
The public's wisdom on breast cancer compared to any other cancer is significantly greater,since it is publicized year round and constantly brought up. The cancer awareness organizations in America shine a bright light on breast cancer making it seem like it is the only one out there.Breast cancer is the known cancer of America, it has a whole month of dedication in which the world displays pink. Pink ribbons,pink shoes and pink towels in football, and 31 full days to race to find the cure. The sad fact is that the most socialized and known form of cancer isn't one of the scarier ones.While breast cancer is most common throughout females and even seen in males it isn't the deadliest cancers around.
