Who comes to mind when someone asks you “Who is the GOAT of the NBA?” Michael Jordan. Michael Jordan paved the way for these current NBA players to be great. If you ask many great NBA players of the last 2 decades they will say Michael Jordan was their idol.

Michael Jordan is a 6x champion, 6x finals MVP, 5x MVP, 14x All-Star, 3x All Star MVP, 10x All-NBA First team, 1 All-NBA Second Team, and 9x All-NBA Defensive First Team. Keep in mind Michael Jordan is undefeated in the finals 6-0. The list could go on, and on. These are some of the main key factors. When we talk about the greatest athletes of all time, in my opinion it comes down to accolades.
Why is it a Debate?
The Goat debate is a very interesting topic to me because so many people have many different opinions. "At that moment I was like, I'm the greatest basketball player people have ever seen." - Lebron James. James is in the GOAT debate because of the many accomplishments he has achieved in his career. Lebron James is a 4x champion, 4x finals MVP, 4x MVP, 19x All-Star, 3x All-Star MVP, 6x All-Defense, 5x First team. Although this is very impressive, it does not beat Michael Jordan. James is a very good basketball player but he does not pass Jordan. Jordan has accomplished more that James and has played 5 less seasons.
