According to a study from George Fox University, it is predicted that the employment of physical therapists will grow approximately 34% between 2014 and 2024. Currently, PT is the third most sought after occupation in Idaho and the 6th most in demand medical related profession in the nation. Physical therapy is applicable to a wide variety of different injuries or problems with the body. Physical therapy which is also known as physiotherapy is a rehabilitation and physical study that uses mechanical movements which will eventually bring the muscles to their original, or close to their original state. It is important for a PT to have detailed knowledge and understanding about injuries in the soft tissue and the muscles. Customer and Personal Service: It is vital that a PT is providing special services to customers based on their needs. This makes it so the PT can create a specific program for the patient. Psychology: People, their actions, and mental processes and how to treat problems. Helps the PT understand how to help treat his patients and what will efficiently work during recovery. Therapy and Counseling: The mental or physical problems and methods for treatment. Biology: Cells, plants, and animals and how they function. Physics is required so the PT can effectively use torque, leverage, etc. Education and Training: Obviously very important so that the physical therapist will be able to perform with efficiency. As well as the required knowledge of what maneuvers or exercises help for whatever given injury. Social Skills: Making it possible for the physical therapist to explain and project what is necessary for the patient to complete when not at an appointment. Administration and Management: This is also very important for any business or service owner. Makes it possible to keep a successful business up and running.
