The purpose of this article was to help identify the Physical Therapy profession. The author explains that Physical Therapist need to identify themselves with a body system. They need to embrace the movement system as their own in order to reach the professions full potential in society. Sahrmann also explains why the movement system should be defined as a physiological system and also promotes kinesiopathology and pathokinesiology as important movement system concepts. I agree with the author and believe that Physical Therapist need to identify themselves with a body system and should be recognized as expertise of the movement system. I believe this will help Physical Therapist have complete control over the movement system which will help give the profession a true identity. The 2013 House of Delegates of the American Physical Therapy Association revised the vision of the profession when it passed resolution RC 14-13 which states “The physical therapy profession will transform society by optimizing movement to improve health and participation in life.” The HOD also passed resolution RC 15-13 which specifies the principles of the vision statement. It states “The physical therapy professions greatest calling is to maximize function and minimize disability for all people of all ages. In this context, movement is the key to optimal living and quality of life for all people of all ages that extends beyond health to every person’s ability to participate in and contribute to society.” Both of these policies reinforce the idea that movement is the foundation of physical therapy. Therefore, I agree with the author and believe Physical Therapist need to be identified with the movement system and a body of knowledge. According to Sahrmann it has been a challenge organizing, describing, and labeling that body
