Instant replay machine has changed the outcome of many professional sports. Instant replay has been an amazing tool to use to make sure calls are correct on the field. As technology advances far more advance cameras have been invented. Thus, allowing the integrity of professional sports to improve and the feeling of being cheated on a specific call on the field has been reduced. Instant replay was first used in 1963 during an Army-Navy football game. It was created by Tony Verna and the first instant replay machine weighed 1,300 pounds. Many Detroit Tigers fans and players know the pain of an incorrect call the official can make thus, making you cheated and sad that nothing can be done about the blown call. Human error is normal and that’s why is hard to hold a grudge about a specific event but not being able review it to make correct the call is insane. Thus making instant replay on important moments in the game was essential and that’s why it has been implemented. The reduction of human error by using the hi-tech cameras to play it into slower speed is just one way that technology has improved in the games. Improved cameras has made instant replay easier for officials. Cameras that slow down the speed of games has allowed instant replay to exist.
