The controversy to protect online users data from exploiting and using their data have been an ongoing issue for almost two decades. I believe that when it comes to this type of issue that Internet Service Providers should be restricted from using their customers’ information, since it not only violates their personal privacy but also their identity. I will be discussing how Internet Service Providers have access to more information about their users than any media site, and these Internet Service Providers should have the consent of their users before disclosing any information about them. Furthermore, the first point I will be indicating about the first article is that users’ information surpass browsing data when it is collected by Internet Service Providers, and that the users’ personal information and identity are revealed to Internet Service Providers and can lead to legal issues if it used inappropriately. Nevertheless, the second point I will mention is that Internet Service Providers should notify their customers and have their customers’ consent before accessing their information and would be against their privacy if it was accessed without their knowledge.

In the article, Consumers will still have choices, McDowell states, “Consumers will continue to have strong privacy protections. Providers will still inform their customers about their privacy policies and practices, and customers will continue to have choices about how providers use their data.
