Have you ever heard of IPEX Syndrome? If not it’s an extremely lethal disease. Because many people haven 't heard of IPEX, They may be surprised to learn of its inceptions, its effects, and its treatments. IPEX is a Immunodysregulation, Polyendocrinopathy, Enteropathy, X linked disease. If not caught immediately it 's deadly, what causes the disease is when the body’s immune system malfunctions and attacks the body’s tissue and organs destroying them. The disease is linked only with the X gene. This is what IPEX syndrome is. There are a few treatments though that are used to attempt to treat it, one being a blood transfusion from a family member that matches the person 's blood type, or a donor. A bone marrow transplant is also an option, a bone marrow transplant is when a doctor takes a donor 's healthy blood forming cell and puts it in a patient 's bloodstream, forming healthy red and white blood cells, and platelets. Before getting a bone marrow transplant, a person has to go through chemo to destroy some of the bad cells in the body that are linked to the disease so new ones can form and help the person get rid of the disease.
