Ironclads played a huge impact in the civil war and their creation still impacts us today. Ironclads were not actually invented in in the civil war but the civil war was its first important use. The first Union ironclad was called City and was invented by James B. Eads (Weaver1). Ironclads were metal plated ships that lay very low to the water level and had the artillery on top. The steel plates weight the ship down so instead of using weak and vulnerable sails the ship was modified to use steam engines yet still turning a ironclad was a 30 minute task.
However, the Civil War was the first war where they were particularly utilized. In 1592, the first ironclad was thought to have been launched by the Korean Royal Navy. It was known to have iron spikes around it, but it was not known it it was actually plated with iron. Other early ironclads

Before Industrialization the world functioned off of the Biological Old Regime. Places functioned off of trades and labor that had to be done by hand. This being the case agriculture was the most prevalent and important means of survival and trade for each place around the world, but with agriculture limits were at hand at each place on what and how much could grow there. China and India became increasing powerful doing this time. China developed a rich powerful economy from trading its silk and India developed the same for its trades in its spices.
In Lauriston Sharp’s article Steel Axes for Stone-Age Australians, he presents the Yir Yoront as native tribes that function as an isolated society. The native society survived for a long time because they used a set of practices that functions as a patriarchal society. Such practices included the men creating stone axes that the tribe often uses, women and children not being able wield the family’s ax without the older male’s permission, and specific methods of trade between two tribes. However, the Yir Yoront’s way of life was disturbed by European settlers who wanted more land and missionaries who sought to change the lives of the natives. In most cases, the intervention of the Europeans caused the members of the tribal society to adapt
While individuals who end up getting sent to prison have many issues to look forward to, one of the biggest issues they have to deal with is who or how will they get classified. While they in-processed into the jail system, the incoming inmate has to form some sort of allegiance towards their own race. Whites, hang out with whites, Hispanics with Hispanics and African Americans with African Americans. Street gang members who had issues outside of the wire fence, no longer have issues while being inside. Inmates of the same race come together as one to fight off others.

Both ancient Shang and the Mesopotamia civilization depend on Bronze. In Shang, the Bronze is made to tools for agriculture , Bronze tools make the planting process more efficient, thus the civilization own more foods and goods for domestic trading. Same thing happened in Mesopotamia, people use bronze to make tools and produce more goods. Since the Mesopotamia people is better at international trading through ocean, bronze has a deeper significance for them, bronze helps the people to trade further into the ocean, it is believed that Mesopotamia people have traveled and traded to Britain and Afghanistan for resource with the help of the Bronze. Another major development in this period is the writing system, both of the two civilization own pretty completed writing system, but two writing system are believed to be invented for different purpose, Shang people develop the oracle for mainly political and the religious purpose, people and the king need record religious and political issues.
The essay will discuss a paper written by anthropologist Gregory Possehl – Sociocultural complexity without the state: the Indus Civilization. It will first present the usual classification when approaching ancient civilisations and briefly summarise Possehl’s main argument. The essay will then dig more deeply into the Indus case, relying on archaeological findings, to see how far Possehl’s position can be supported. Archaeologists and anthropologists are usually classifying social groups considering their social organisation and material culture – one widely accepted classification recognizes four levels of development: (1) the band, a hunter-gather, kinship-based group, (2) the tribe, an organised collection of bands, (3) the chiefdom, a centrally organised kinship-based group with hierarchy and single leader, and (4) the state, a complex, hierarchical, centrally organised, non-kinship-based social organisation (Young 2014:19). Such a classification has stirred debates among scholars, as it conveys the preconceived idea that social groups ‘progress’ following this linear trajectory – furthermore, it is difficult to define the moment and the circumstances associated to a change of status (when does a band become a tribe?)

Comparison and Contrast Essay While the Indian Ocean and Trans-Saharan trade routes both encouraged and facilitated the spread of Islam, the Indian Ocean saw a more extensive diffusion of disease, and traded across water instead of land. Islam was a widespread religion amongst both trade routes, but other religions, like Buddhism, were not as popular along the Trans-Saharan route. Through the time period, we see evidence of Islam’s dominance in the form of muslim architecture and the rulers of the time period.
In the history of the hebrews the religion has displayed a remarkable adaptability and continuity. Starting when God flooded the world and spared nobody but Noah and his family, when God had Abraham leave Mesopotamia and settle in the land of the Canaanites, And when God had Moses lead his people out of slavery and into the promised land. All of these points change the face of the Hebrew culture and their religion. The Hebrews history was remarkable which they managed to survive as people and as a culture. From the Hebrews point of view the whole purpose was to illuminate their relationship with God When God was in the picture with the Hebrews things became different, God did not allow more than one god which is called monotheism.
During the bronze age both Ancient Mesopotamians and Ancient Egyptians developed forms of religion that highly reflected their habitat. They had many similarities in their politics even though they had completely different forms of government. Both societies were also known for their discoveries in art and technology. They developed their own forms of writing, different tools and architecture.
They used clay not only to make pots but also to make bronze sculptures. They would start with a clay shape and put wax on the outside of the clay, then they would layer more clay on top of the wax. Next they would fire the sculpture to melt the wax and pour the bronze into the clay mold that was left over. Lastly they would break the clay and be left with the bronze statue.
