As a result of globalization, we are seeing an ever-increasing reliance upon foreign goods. According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, globalization is, “the development of an increasingly integrated global economy marked especially by free trade, free flow of capital, and the tapping of cheaper foreign labor markets” (Merriam-Webster). Many people are wondering whether globalization is damaging or beneficial. With this thought in mind, I aim to show in my research paper, “Is China Taking Over the World?”, that although the world has benefitted from globalization it has also been damaged. My paper will examine how globalization began, as well as some of the benefits which have helped the world. It will also examine how globalization has damaged many people’s lives. These issues are important because they show how globalization has affected the world since its very beginning.
