There are many different views and ideas people have about God and church. The Church is not only a building but it is the whole body of believers in Christianity. For a lot of people the Church is their second family and their home, but is the Church dying? As of 2015 there are around 2.2 billion Christians in the world and that is about 33% of the entire world population, but every year one percent less people claim an affiliation with Christianity ("World Religions ~ Populations pie Chart Statistics List"). So the question then lay is God dead or dying? Back in the day around the1960’s Church was the most important day of the week, the town was shut down until 12, no shows were on, the only thing to do basically was go to Church and the numbers of people at church was staggering. Slowly over the years since then Church has slowly been declining and Churches are dying, around 3,700 Church’s close their doors every year (Lipka). Politics have been also been slowly trying to get rid of Christianity in the past couple decades. Hillary Clinton said “Laws have to be backed up with resources and political will. God is around if people were to just look around. There is a fictional story that illustrates that God is everywhere. The story begins with a man that has been meditating his whole life looking and searching for God. One day he got fed up and prayed that he had never found God and gave up. He then walked down to a river and hit a fish in the head, and the fish asked what was wrong. He said that he had prayed his whole life and had never seen God, the fish said “you think you have problems look at me, i’m surrounded by water yet can not find anything to drink”. The man said “ look around you are a fish and are surrounded by water all around you”. The fish then said that's my point, you sir are surrounded by God all the time and yet you forgo seeing him”. The point of the story is that people when they don't “find” God or don't see the point in God they are blind. The beauty that surrounds us all the time from the ocean, to the mountains, to the fact people have jobs, getting that paycheck, passing that test, and many other examples. It is not a coincidence that the Earth is at the perfect distance from the sun, the perfect temperature, with the perfect gases and bacteria existing to create a stable living environment for all the creatures, with so much diversity
