The Byzantine empire was the section of Rome that remained after the fall of Rome and was a very successful civilization in its time. During the rise of Christianity, the Byzantine empire became a Christian-based civilization and used the church to solve its political and economic problems that sprang up after the fall of Rome.

Ferdinand and Isabella Spain is one of the world’s major powers and has been for a long time. However, before Ferdinand and Isabella, the country of Spain did not even exist. They united two kingdoms together to form the country of Spain. In addition, Ferdinand and Isabella led the Spanish Reconquista which drove the Muslims out of Spain and established Spain as a strong military force.
Empires of the 1400's- 1800's had some major differences, but they also came along with some major similarities. This time period brought major changes to the Europe and American worlds. Once, two completely different places, now connected through conquest the of the americas or Middle East. Their conquest spread throughout land and allowed them to adopt and transform their ideas throughout the world and their realities areas. While both empires spread their land, the ottomans were less open to foreign ideas.
Muhammad refers to the people of the book, as in the people of the bible such as those in Spain believing in Christianity. By maintaining peace between these other religions, citizens of other faiths willingly contributed to the Islamic empire. They participated in the community like citizens of the Islamic faith, sharing ideas and partaking in trade. The religion was able to expand with the conversion of people from other religions, but more importantly the accepting nature of this religion made other Islamic innovations
In 1763, Britain took some of Spain’s land despite having just helped them. King Louis XV tried to give his land away to his cousin because he thought that the land wasn’t rich enough. Many Native Americans such as the Sioux lived in the region. King Louis gladly gave the land to Spain because of how expensive it was. The British wanted to defeat Spain so badly that they had the Native Americans attack them.
Even worse, in 1483, one year into the war officially started, the sultan’s son, Muhammad, rebelled against his father and ignited a civil war. King Ferdinand used the civil war to his advantage, and supported Muhammad in his fight against his father. However, just after Muhammad took power of Granada in 1490, he received a letter from King Ferdinand demanding he surrender the city. He decided to resist and sought help from other Muslim kingdoms throughout North Africa and the Middle East. No help came besides a small Ottoman navy that raided the Spanish coast and did not cause much damage.
