Approximately four-thousand years ago, which is forty centuries ago, one man named Hammurabi ruled and became a king of a city-state named Babylon. Hammurabi is best known for his two-hundred-eighty-two laws for people who live in Babylonia. He ruled for 42 years and the first 30 years old ruling he mostly controlled the city Babylon. He ruled over about a million people. His laws were carved in a pillar-like stone called a stele.
When the Amorites invaded ancient Mesopotamia around 2000 BCE, a new empire became established, leading to the downfall of the once-great Akkadian Empire. With it, came a new set of rules and way of life. Now known as the Babylonianan empire, Preceding the death of his father, Sin-Muballit, Humboy came into power as king of what is now known as the Babylonian Empire, in 1792 BCE. expanding the border of z dynasty that would span yada yada, what now know today as the babylonian empire.

The city of Babylon was the capital of Babylonia in southern Mesopotamia. Babylon was a weak city which seeked independence from its neighbor, Assyria. Although the Babylonians were ruled by the Kassites in 1595 B.C., in 626 B.C., it was under the reign of the Assyrians. In the year 626 B.C., the Assyrian king, Ashurbanipal, passed away. It was then after that word had spread hastily throughout the land and Nabopolassar appeared to declare himself the first king of the Neo-Babylonian Empire.
During the years of 1792-1750 BC, King Hammurabi ruled the city-state of Babylon in the region of Mesopotamia, which is the land between the Tigris and Euphrates river, in what is now modern day Iraq. During his 42 year rule, he created an intensive code of laws in which the citizens of Babylon were to live by, and he had great military campaigns that lasted many years and gained the land of many cities, creating a very large empire. Also, as ruler, Hammurabi constructed many buildings and systems that are still in wide use up to this day.
What was different from lineage of rulership was the Solomonid kings claimed to have descended from the biblical King Solomon and Queen Sheba. The rise of the Solomonids ceased the traditional architectural buildings. The King and officials would live in tents going from district to district. This allowed the king to uphold his loyalty and ensure taxation. One tradition that stuck for about 3 centuries was when a new king was throne, all the royal officials were imprisoned in the mountain fortress of Gishen.
King David, born a shepherd boy near the kingdom of Judea he lead a simple life. Although not much is known about his childhood he is known to be the teen who killed goliath with only a sling and a stone. Therefore saving Judea from coming into Egyptian rule, a deal made from both generals of the army's. He there was commended and made the new king of Judea. Using his new power David made a big impact on jewish culture in various ways.

Isaac M. Wise was a Rabbi that wrote several editorials in his weekly journal The Israelite. The Israelite held a strong influence in the mid-west and south during the 1800s and “exerted a powerful force in the formation of Jewish public opinion on Jewish and national problems” (1). Wise expressed his stance as neutral in regards to politics during the Civil War. Yet, it became obvious through Wise’s editorials that he was not a fence-sitter, but rather a Peace Democrat; Wise believed in neither the extreme abolitionist’s nor the extreme secessionist’s political views.
David led, by far, a remarkable life. He was said by many to be Israel’s greatest king, by uniting the nation under his leadership, defeating and subduing the pagan nations in the region and establishing Jerusalem as both the religious and political capital. He was also considered one of Israel’s greatest poets, writing psalms that went to the heart of the Jewish religion and to which the psalms still express the faith and longings of Jews and Christians today. Although David was as great a sinner as he was a leader, he began a brief golden age in Israel that provided the pattern for messiah like expectations for Christians and Jews.
As children we are "color-blind," we are unaware of race and racism, nor do we know what they mean or are able to differentiate one from another. As children we are not cognizant of our skin color. All we are simply worried is whether our friends like us or not, if our friends will share their favorite toy, and will he or she pass the ball to us during recess. Although as children we are unconsciously worried about fitting it, the whole concept of “liking one another” derives from not wanting to feel at odds. As we leave our childhood ignorance, and transcend into adulthood we too act unconsciously, especially towards the matter of race.
The Iron Age can be organized in two parts: Iron I and Iron II. During Iron I (1200-1000 B) Bronze Age culture remains intact until the end of the second millennium. The states of Judah and Israel emerge in Iron II (1000-332 BC) due to the decline of Assyrian and Egyptian power (1200-900 BC). The Kingdom of Israel was united under King Saul. The capital, Jerusalem, was established by the next ruler, King David.
