King David, born a shepherd boy near the kingdom of Judea he lead a simple life. Although not much is known about his childhood he is known to be the teen who killed goliath with only a sling and a stone. Therefore saving Judea from coming into Egyptian rule, a deal made from both generals of the army's. He there was commended and made the new king of Judea. Using his new power David made a big impact on jewish culture in various ways. Like once he was king he defended Judea well, became a prophet. But one of his big achievements was building Jerusalem. Altho going through all of this didn't make him a better man as some might think. He became a murderer, unfair, a womanizer, and even a little demented in most cases.

Then their was King Herod. Like David, Herod was born into a poor family, but unlike David Herod became a warrior like his father. And going through the ranks he moved from warrior to general and then became wealthy. After that he ran for office won and at the age 25 he became governor, and then at 30 became apart of the royal family. While all of this seemed normal for an ambitious person at this time this is when his true colors really started to show. …show more content…

The brother in law was not made king, but instead Herod became king himself. And like I said this is where Herod started to show his real, for instance there were 45 of 71 elders who were opposed of him becoming king mainly because he was half jew. So he killed all 45 to leave the 26 others a warning. Because of this and other many reasons this is where Herod started to lose popularity. He built fortresses, cities, and temples, to gain some back, but none worked. Which somehow made him more paranoid.
