Again ‘Jack the Ripper’ strikes without leaving many clues or evidence for the police force to ascertain his identity. Mary Jane Kelly had been late on her rent which is the reason her body is discovered after 10 am on November 9, 1888. A young man was sent to go collect on her past due rent. After some knocking he peaks through the broken glass window into the small room that constituted as her home. What he saw was a scene of horror and immediately seeks out to advise the police. When the police arrive there is much discussion on how to carry out the investigation. It’s decided to keep the area closed off until the police dogs could arrive in hopes they could pick up a scent that could lead them to the possible killer. Surrounding her body were the many parts removed from her body by the ‘The Ripper’. They notice that the heart is missing from her body. There are remnants of some burnt fabric items in the fire place. The officer concur that at one point it must have been a large and hot fire considering that it was still smoldering so many hours after they had the chance to finally entered the room. She didn’t have many belongings in the room and it is noted that her clothing was neatly fold on a chair in the room. Aside from a few pictures they take there is not much evidence left behind indicating who might have been in the room and done such a terrible thing. The investigators interview her former lover, several neighbors, and other people claiming to have interacted with her in the hours leading up to the event and the discovery of her body. Nonetheless, no leads from the interviews help to uncover who could have been in the room at the time of the murder. Leaving the unanswered question of who was ‘Jack the Ripper’?
