The Lord Of The Flies Leadership

Leadership can be described as either reason and logic, or fear and intimidation. Specifically, this text describes what kind of leadership the boys have to show while being stuck on the island. For instance, the boys have to make life or death decisions throughout their adventure. The boys pose to learn to survive on their own with no adult supervision on an island. My opinion on the issue of Jack’s and Ralph’s leadership skills are very different. These views are based on how Ralph was based on reason and logic. While Jack’s approach was based on fear and intimidation. It is important to recognize how having the right type of leadership for this situation is important. Further evidence can be found when Jack left his group and he thought making a hunter group was a better solution. Whereas, Ralph was trying to keep his group stable. There is little doubt that Jack’s and Ralph’s Leadership are very different.

According to the Author, “Ralph felt himself center of an uncomfortable attention. He looked at Jack and then at the conch, and then at the tribe. He felt himself to be the only sane person on an island of maniacs” (Golding 96). The evidence analyzes how all the boys on the island were becoming savage and out of control without having any guidance/leadership. An example of how not having leadership can get out of hand is when all the boys killed Simon. I think Ralph is the most effective leader because he was being logical and actually felt that things were out of control and he wanted to fix it. The reference holds important because it shows how all the boys on the island leadership skills were all different because of their opinion on leadership. In summary, it is important to realize without leadership things can get very out of
