In the year of 1607, King James l was the ruler or King of England. The King allowed 110 men to travel on a journey to find gold in a place that is now called Jamestown named after their Ruler. Many colonists died in Jamestown because of the Indians who attacked and killed many. Doc B is a timeline written by J. Federick Fausz in January, 1990. It is a Magazine Article entittled “An Abundance of Blood Shed on Both Sides: England’s first Indian war 1609-1614.
Well many colonists died because of their water supply, their relationship with the natives, and because of their knowledge of survival. These factor lead to early death for most of the colonist. The water supply for Jamestown was brackish, or filthy, and lead to disease.
The primary source I choose is a letter by Sebastian Brandt, an early English settler from Jamestown, Virginia. This letter was to Henry Hovener and it was dated January 13, 1622. The letter described the life he and the other settlers were living in the colony. He was going in search of silver and gold. But what he only get were diseases.
Valley Forge was a winter camp 18 miles away from Philadelphia, where George Washington took his troops during 1777 and 1778. The British army is comfortable in Philadelphia, while Valley Forge has harsh conditions with the cold weather and the lack of supplies. I will not reenlist when my 9-month enlistment is over. Pilgrims landed in Jamestown in 1607 with aspirations to discover new land as well as to teach their religious beliefs. Jamestown was also viewed as major profit enterprise for food and material which could be sent back to the motherland, Britain. Upon their arrival, they discovered the land had already been occupied by Native Americans, which would allow for trade between the two settlements: Jamestown and Powhatan Confederacy. Tobacco also helped the growing of Jamestown not only in trade but in export which helped the prosperity of the new colony.

When societies share knowledge, resources, and goodwill, they build not only a better present but also a stable future. However, when they try to take advantage of each other by force, they bring instability to their people and those around them. A poignant lesson of this is seen in the interactions between the English and the Pamunkey people in the early 17th century.

The era is sometimes described as a time when the United States experienced the “democratization of politics.” In a democracy every citizen has an equal say in the government's decisions and actions. Some people of this time period believed that Jackson is notable for democratizing the United States during the Jacksonian Era.
Around the world people memorialize great hero’s, express great sorrow for those lost in battle, and celebrate the triumphs that had built the ground and infrastructure from one nation to the next; monuments are constructed to remember our past. Yet, monuments cannot be constructed out of nothing ,great goes into planning, paying, and research that goes into making sure correct homage is paid those who are due. If one wishes to build a memorial a few things must be taken into consideration,making sure the monument honors or recognizes an important person or event, the design of the building including shape and size,and lastly the monument is placed in an acceptable location based on the subject matter. The most important factor in building a monument is making something that people will recognize and feel an attachment to.
Jamestown an English colony in Virginia had over 440 people dead in one winter. Here are the mistakes they made, and the problems they created. A few of those reasons are a lack of food, Indian attacks, disease. The first problem is lack of food, the colonists in Virginia had not predicted what it would be like then and how they would come in a drought ranging from 1607-1612 (B).
To ensure the good and prosperous start of the Jamestown colony I would have brought specialist, people with the right skills required to start a settlement. Our supplies would be the bare minimum of what these people need to jumpstart. The location would be just a few miles or so inland, on a plain at the edge of a forest and near a river. I would recruit professionals such as craftsmen, tailors, farmers, forge smiths, doctors, an herbalist, skilled hunters and soldiers, as well as hard working and willing people. The craftsmen and smiths would begin by building homes, using the tools we brought along with us.
Colonists died in Early Jamestown because of many reasons. These problems were Diseases, Lack of food, and Overpopulation. The main problem and cause of the Colonists death was the diseases. That was bad because there was only one surgeon to help to cure so many people injured. In 1608, there was 51 occupations unknown that really did nothing as well. So many colonists died because of lack of surgeons and gentleman that did not want to help. That is the second reason why so many colonists from Jamestown
