I can still remember stepping off the airplane and walking through Narita airport, the first time I went to Japan. My wife and I boarded a bus and traveled to the domestic airport, Haneda. When we got to Japan, we both felt at home. We wanted to immerse ourselves in the Japanese culture. We ate the food, spoke the language, made friends, and soon discovered that the Japanese loved American Black Gospel Music. Although we were Caucasians, we quickly adapted, put together a Jazz/Gospel band and began singing together. This opened doors for us to travel and get to know the Japanese.
