Pierre Gustave Toutant Beauregard was born in St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana. Lived on a sugar plantation near New Orleans. Went to West Point College and finished second. Married Marie Antoinett who died and 10 years later married Caroline Deslonde. Was an Engineer in the Mexican war and later became a confederate general in the Civil War when Louisiana seceded from the Union.
Antoine founded St. Joseph in 1844 with his father. By the 1830’s, he was developing his own trade route along the Spanish inter-mountain corridor between Santa Fe and the Uinta Basin. He was a Mexican citizen who spoke English, French, Spanish, and several Indian dialects. Antoine helped publicize the merits of California settling.

Bonge Stoof was a name that struck fear into many of the citizens of the thirteen colonies. He was known for being brutal with his prisoners, ravaging houses of innocent people, and killing his own country men. He and his squad of men were getting more and bolder in their attempts of taking down the thirteen colonies and had recently blown up a shipment of gunpowder.

In 1966 his father, Rolly decided to move him and his family to Vancouver, Britsh Columbia. The family moved west and eventually settled in Port Coquiltam, a community located 27km east of Vancouver.

In the website “Michigan Lighthouse Shines on After 50 Years” by Janis Campbell, readers learn about the history of the Point Betsie Lighthouse. In August of 2008 the Michigan Point Betsie Lighthouse lit it’s 150th candle. This lighthouse went into service in 1858 and in 1877, the U.S. lifesaving service opened, so they could control the beach during the night. The lighthouse then became automatic in 1983, but a coast guard personnel continued to monitor Point Betsie. In 2004, the ownership was transferred, so they could begin it’s own life-saving effort on this gorgeous landmark and to this day the Point Betsie shines bright.
Baron de Montesquieu was born on January 18, 1689 in Bordeaux, France with the name Charles-Louis de Secondat. Charles de Secondat was given the title of Baron when his uncle died and passed on his title, fortune and his presidential seat in the Bordeaux Parliament to him. Throughout Montesquieu 's life he had studied politics, law and science. He served as a judge in his region 's government and was extremely active in Bordeaux ' scientific academy. In 1721, Montesquieu published his thoughts on France; he called this publication The Persian Letters.
